This Bureau was in desperate need of some Refunking! It was bare and covered in wax when it arrived. I stripped it down and apinted it in Little Greene ‘yellow-pink’. I love its deep mustard tone. I then aged it with a black wax in parts, to highlight its detail. The handles were replaced for sturdy industrial iron cup handles, which have a bees waxed finish.
The inlay of the bureau needed to pop a little so i went for a graphite grey to contrast with the Mustard.
My clients love music so i surprised them with some vintage sheet music to line the drawers and little shelves. The extra special detail on this piece, was that one of the composers on the sheet music i choose for the writing pad has the same surname as my clients! It’s all in the detail 😉
