‘Reflections of the Severn’ Cabinet

Description

This piece has been redesigned with the mighty River Severn in mind for the #severnsistersart exhibition at the 7Q gallery Chepstow.

It was stripped of it’s old varnish and treated like a canvas. With the grey swooping tones of grey often seen reflecting off the Severn constantly in mind i hand painted the frame in many tones of grey to black.

The top has a durable high sheen black finish.

It has two glass removable shelves, mirrored back and working lock and key.

The base has been covered in a map of the River Severn dating back to 1933. All sealed.

It’s then finished with my favourite par. The Rusty old feet. I built up a heavy rust patina on these so they look like they’ve been stood rusting Severn side for years. I also tied the bar sat on top of the unit in a rust patina.

All wipeable and very durable finishes. Original vintage glass and mirror. In great condition.

I’m sorry but I will not ship this cabinet there is far too much glass. Collection only I’m afraid.
