This little old oak frame and topped bedside cabinet, was covered in thick orange varnish when i rescued it from a welsh farmhouse.
Feeling old dirty and tired (don’t we all some days?) but structurally sound, it has been completely stripped back and is now this handy little bedside unit, perfect to inject a little colour into a funky bedroom. It would fit into traditional or new surroundings quite perfectly.
It’s now revived and rocking aged ‘English Yellow’ Annie Sloan paint in the panels on the outside.
For me the shining glory on this piece is the original handle. The tear drop brass handle turns as a latch to shut the door tight. Naturally aged in all the correct places. It has a stunning simplistic floral design at the top. Which suits it so well and still functions perfectly.
I couldn’t resist making the inside of the cabinet Pop just a little with two pieces of rare French vintage 1960s floral, slightly flower power bark cloth ! In oranges, greens and yellows to compliment the outside panels.
