1960s ‘Avalon Yatton’ Beehive chest of Drawers Restoration

What a classic mid-century Danish inspired design this beehive fronted chest of drawers is. It came to Refunked Hq in a sorry state.

The drawers could hardly open and the wood was covered in years of built up silicon product and varnish. A full restoration was needed on the 1960s unloved beauty.

The more i got it back to its original bare wood beauty the more the strong striped teak veener started to shine.

Here’s the top now. Fed with oils and waxes. No scratches to veneer with a silky soft finish. Semi matt.
