I just wanted to share with you a commission I’m embarking on! This large light oak antique chest of drawers has had three thick coats of chalk paint removed from it. My client has asked for a diamond harlequin pattern. Picking some of the diamonds out in a light pink tone and leaving the rest as a bare wood matt finish.
A tricky commission but I love a challenge. Spending time on the prep by measuring and measuring again and then making one hundred percent sure that the diamonds I paint are covering the darker parts in the grain especially on top. I want to make sure the piece has an even tone as much as possible to the bare wood diamonds
It’s all in the prep. I’ll keep you posted on this ones transformation. I think its going to be a good one!
